Case Study 4

Case Studies

Original: A one off, quality kitchen built and fitted in the 1970's. An almost perfectly preserved 'Retro' style.

The Brief: Having chosen the kitchen originally over 30 years ago the owners thought it was about time for a change. They were looking for a mix of traditional and more contemporary look with uncluttered lines and an airier feel that wouldn't be subject to going out of fashion too quickly. As these were more of an elderly couple ease of use and maintenance were top on their list of priorities. To that end there was a considerable amount of changes made to the existing cabinet work and additional cabinets installed. Raising the oven to a height that didn't require stooping to use and the conversion of many of the cupboards to large scale drawers achieved a working kitchen that was much easier to use without strain.

Kitchen Chosen: From our Bella range they chose Euroline style doors finished in Natural Oak with all matching accessories such as cornice, light rails, decor panels and plinths.
Worktops: Duropal 40 mm thick high pressure laminated work tops in Tuscan Granite pattern. (All corners are Mason Mitre seamless joints).

Scope of works: This refurbishment was about as far as you can go and still call it a makeover as opposed to a full kitchen refurbishment. We treated it as a makeover, even though there were substantial renewals and movements of the existing kitchen as that is what the customer specified after lengthy planning and consultations. Below is a breakdown of what we actually did to complete this refurbishment.
