Case Study 2

Case Studies

Original: A purpose built traditional pine multi panel door kitchen.

The Brief: The customer wanted to lose the now darkened antique pine and the fussiness of the original doors. It was important to retain the 'cottage kitchen' feel but to bring it up to date and lighten the whole feel of the room. The existing hand made Mexican wall tiles needed to be retained along with the Quarry tiled floor and kick plinths.
We had to remove the existing dresser units to allow for the existing solid Beech work tops to be replaced with Granite then replace after refurbishing them.
The customer also wanted to re-arrange the cooking facilities which meant removing the low level hob area and preparing it to receive a large range cooker. We also had to rebuild the existing tall cooker housing to accommodate a new integrated combination Microwave oven. The existing small breakfast bar/island unit was only accessible for storage by one small door on the sink side. We dismantled the unit in situ and fitted a pair of new doors where the old back decor panel was to allow access from both sides.

Kitchen Chosen: From our Bella range they chose Newport style doors finished in Vanilla with all matching accessories such as cornice, light rails and decor panels.

Scope of works: This wasn't a simple door replacement either; here is a list of refurbishment works we completed on this project.
