Case Study 1

Case Studies

Original: A 1990's Texas Homecare veneered Oak panelled door kitchen with 30mm bull nose fronted laminate worktops.

The Brief: The customer wanted us to bring a lighter more up to date feel to the kitchen but retain an element of traditional kitchen as they would be retaining a built in pine dresser unit.
The customer was going to be re tiling and replacing the floor covering when we had finished our works. This was quite a large kitchen with units spread across three areas (see plan and parts list).

Kitchen Chosen: From our Bella range they chose Surrey style doors finished in Vanilla with all matching accessories such as cornice, light rails, decor panels and plinths.
Worktops: Axiom (by Formica) 40 mm thick high pressure laminated work tops in Block Beech pattern. (All corners are Mason Mitre seamless joints).

Scope of works: This wasn't a simple door replacement; here is a list of refurbishment works we completed on this project.

Replace all door and drawer fronts.
Supply and fit new matching cornice, light rail and plinths.
Replace all drawer boxes with new Blum Metabox drawers.
Dress the show ends of all units with our matching Vanilla vinyl.
Replace all door hinges with new Blum all metal soft close hinges.
Renew the front edge of all the cabinets with new Vanilla matching edge.
Supply and fit (vented through outside wall) a new fully integrated extractor unit c/w matching cabinet door.
Fit a new Gas hob and new sink and taps (Customer supplied the Hob, Sink and Taps).
Fit new work tops.
One unit door to have custom made leaded glass fitted.
Fit our Satin Chrome Dimple handles.

Total number of doors and drawer fronts: 41                           Total inclusive cost of all works (2011)    £3300.00
